Robert Lawton

6 September to 4 October

In the main gallery is a collection of new paintings by Robert Lawton (the Morandi of Narberth!). Robert has produced beautiful contemplative paintings using a very restricted palette. Small architectural studies in watercolours and subtle tonal landscapes, alongside still life studies of jugs and pots in different lights (which is why he is compared to the great Italian painter Morandi), give this show a calm spiritual feel. Since his last show in 2004 in his hometown of Narberth, Robert has moved to Oswestry where he has combined making a living with the discipline of studying and painting his surroundings and found objects that become elevated into something special through his craft.
