Avi Allen’s show consists of 36 works on paper.
‘My work is concerned with an ongoing engagement with the language of drawing and its place within contemporary artistic practice. For me, drawing becomes a site in which to explore and celebrate notions of closeness, mutuality, open-ended conversations – glimpses into moments of “becoming”.’
Avi finished her degree at West Wales School of Art last year and was chosen to exhibit in the Eisteddfod in August. This collection shows her superb drawing skills, and her confident and sophisticated use of space shows a maturity and talent beyond her years. It is a pleasure to give this young artist her first solo exhibition and I’m confident she will be a great success.
