In Oriel Fach, Adam Buick has a stunning collection of ceramics.
There are moon vases: beautiful round hand-thrown pots with different glazes and amazing effects, created with his use of materials such as sea weed, sand aggregate, and pebbles and then fired in a wood fire kiln. They have such presence and, as well as the impressive large ones, his collection of miniature moon pots are like jewels, each one unique with its own personality.
The craftsmanship is obvious, the sheer beauty of every piece deserves to be admired, and the response of people at the opening was quite emotional, with some people hugging and smoothing the pots, someone tapping them and listening to the sounds, and someone else making sounds into them and enjoying the resonance of the echoes.
