A superb collection of work from 36 artists. Figurative, abstract, witty, thought-provoking art from established figures such as Christine Kinsey, Geoff Yeomans, Elizabeth Haines, Andrea Kelland, Osi Rhys Osmond, David Fitzjohn, Cath Roche, Neil Crowther, Rhoda Hodes, and students present and past from West Wales College of Art, Sarah Brown, Helen Gillam, Jane St Keverne, David and Wendy Payne, Deborah Lewis, Amy Scott, Tanya Ransom, Tessa Cooke, Hannah Davies are joined by Peter Rossiter, Emma Berkery, Ruth Clarke, Guy Manning, Alun Smith, Jane Fryer, Glesni Williams, Cath Fairgrieves, and Pauline Le Britton. There are sculptures by Ben Lloyd, Martin White, Mike Davies; ceramics by Thomasin Toohie and Ann Goodfellow; and jewellery by Harriet Addyman and Diana Durey. The photographs on the stairs are sensitive landscapes by Val Sanderson, also a student at Carmarthen.
On show too are over 20 small works donated for the annual raffle, some by the above named artists, along with John Knapp Fisher, Paul Roche , Sylvia Rivers and Wendy Lloyd. The draw will take place on Saturday
19 December at 3.00pm. This is a fundraiser by the Friends to help the gallery, which is constantly having to raise money to stay in existence. The high quality exhibits and popularity of the gallery should ensure its future but, with cuts by the Arts Council, we have to strive to keep venues like this open for the benefit of artists, education and the enjoyment of the public.
This exhibition fulfills all these criteria and is well worth a visit especially if you want to buy a special present for someone.
