An Indian Summer
10 October to 7 November

Opening on Friday 9 October at 7.00pm.

An Indian Summer is the title for the three exhibitions on show during this time frame.

Sian Boissevain is an illustrator and community artist who has been travelling back and forth to India for over 28 years of her life! She exhibits some photographs and images from her experiences.

Landing in the unknown heat and dust of Delhi in 1981, with an old army bag, blanket and a sketch book, paints and a camera, the colour and vibrancy of India captured her heart and has influenced her life and art ever since!

'My paintings took on a whole new meaning and style as I sat in the streets surrounded by the carnival of people's lives, and the rich tapestry of colours, patterns and shadows emerged in front of my eyes! I lost myself in the colourful markets, silk emporiums, temples and wild musical processions, and my rocky love affair with Mother India began. It inspired me to paint the mysterious beauty and life, and opened doors to a world I could never ever forget!'
